Alexa Axthelm joins the inMotion family as a graduate of UNL as a creative spirit and trained artist with a degree in Theatre Design with a focus in scenic painting. Alexa's dance career has consisted of both recreational and competitive dancing, along with dance teams at a variety of levels. Growing up in North Carolina she had the opportunity to compete at different national competitions across the east coast with the two studios who helped to shape her as a person and a dancer. Alexa assisted with teaching classes for three years while in high school. She has had the pleasure of taking classes from a variety of teachers giving her broad perspective and knowledge in ballet, contemporary, and jazz.
She is looking forward to working with your child to develop dance skills, self confidence, and a love of the arts through dance.

Mini's Dance Instructor
Peyton Davis-Schmit began dancing at age four at Pure Movement Dance Institute in Lincoln, NE. Throughout her dance career she has taken ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, and modern. Peyton was also one of the founding members of Nebraska Contemporary Dance Theater. Her favorite style of dance is modern because the movement is very organic and there is room for you to be creative. Peyton is a freshman at Nebraska Wesleyan University and is planning to study biology.
Beginners Dance Instructor
Ashley started dancing when she was 5 years old at Desiree’s dancers in David city Nebraska. Ashely was in tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, hip hop, modern, and lyrical. She was also a member of her high-school dance team for four years. Ashley is a dancer on the Concordia dance team and studies early childhood education. She will be starting her sophomore year at Concordia and is so excited to teach and learn from her dance students this year.
Kody Hayes is the be all, end all of inMOTION Dance. She's the organizer, thinker, dreamer, and driver of our small but mighty studio and team. Kody started the dance program with three students in 2016 and has grown the program to over 50 students in 2019. Kody is passionate about making sure each student has a great dance experience. Kody is a Doane College graduate, was a member of the Doane Dance Team, and is consistently called upon for expertise in both dance and cheer team coaching. She currently serves as the coach for the Parkview Christian cheer team in Lincoln.
Director of Dance
Haleigh Fitzsimmons joined our studio in 2019 and is a member of the Concordia University Dance Team. She will be choreographing this years musical. Haleigh has been classically trained in a studio environment with genres of ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and lyrical. She spent eleven years of her dance career in a studio and performed all across the United States with the studio’s linked Dance Company. This gave her the opportunity to learn theatre styles of dance and use the art of dance to express emotions, stories, time periods, and performance etiquette. Haleigh is currently a sophomore at Concordia University and studies Secondary Education and English.
Beginners Dance Instructor
Alexa has been dancing since she was 3 and spent most of her dance career at Rennae’s School of Dance and Acrobatics in Elkhorn NE. She danced competitively for 11 years and taught for 3 years in high school. Alexa graduated from Elkhorn high school and was on the dance team for 3 years there. She is currently a special education major at Concordia University and is a track and field athlete.
Hope Hoyer has been leading our dance program since 2017. Hope is from Crete, NE and danced at Crete's Dance Company for 13 years, including 7 years of competitive dance. During these years she competed in multiple local and national competitions. Hope has studied many dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, pointe, and pom with jazz being her favorite. She loves jazz because of the high energy and strong movements. Hope is currently a senior at Concordia University and studies Spanish and Applied Communication.
Intermediate and Adult Dance Instructor
Samantha joined our studio in 2018 and has been an invaluable help with our mini and beginners classes. Sam's love of dance (and of kids) has made her a natural fit with our team and we would be lost without her. Samantha is a member of the Seward High Swing Choir and is actively involved in band and music as well as sharing her talents on stage with roles in many of the Seward High musicals
