All dancers will be expected to follow studio rules. If behavior issues arise during class, the following discipline plan will take place: Dancers who receive a ‘strike 1’ will be asked to sit out for 5 minutes. Dancers who receive a ‘strike 2’ will be asked to sit out for the remainder of the class and will have a parent meeting. Dancers who receive a ‘strike 3’ may be dismissed from class. All situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Attendance is taken at each class and recognition is given at recital for perfect attendance. Classes cannot be "made up" for this award; you must attend all of your regularly scheduled classes to receive this award. Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, and the instructors cannot jeopardize its responsibilities to the rest of class for one student. If a student has missed two classes in a month, the instructor will notify the parent if a paid make-up lesson is necessary for the student to catch up. If a student absence becomes an on-going issue a meeting will be scheduled to discuss appropriate options. Please make every effort to have your child at every class. Awards are also given at the dance recital for full seasonal participation (September - Recital time). SITTING OUT: If a student is unable to dance, but is feeling well enough to attend class, we expect them to participate by observing so that they will retain key elements of class. Students who feel ill, have a fever, or are exhibiting “contagious” cold symptoms should stay home and rest. Cases of prolonged absence due to illness or injury should be discussed with the teacher.
inMOTION DOES NOT CARRY MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR ITS STUDENTS. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies.
inMOTION follows the Seward Public School closings. Notice will be emailed or sent through the Remind app. Click here to join this texting option.
Holiday dates will be posted and will be given to your child prior to holiday periods included in newsletters and email reminders. Other cancellations due to competitions or other out of town events will also be posted in advance and stated in newsletters and on our website calendar.
Parents are allowed to observe class as needed, although we encourage parents to allow their student to experience the class without their presence as it can be distracting and so students training and classes go uninterrupted. Our studio waiting room seating is limited and is right in the class instruction space. If parents want pictures of class please ask in advance for instructors approval, pictures are to be taken in a timely manner and persons must leave the room after the task is finished.
Spring Recital is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th. It is up to parents and guardians to make sure they do not schedule any other events during this time that may interrupt the dancers’ performance dates. Ticket prices will be: Adults $8, Students (ages 5-18) $5, Children 5 and under are free. All attendees (other than the dance students) need to purchase a ticket. There are no exceptions to this rule. Anyone without a ticket will not be allowed in the event location.
Tuition is paid in monthly installments for your convenience. Some months have 5 lessons, others have 3. We do not change the price per month based on number of classes. If payment is not received by the due date, there will be a $5.00 late fee charged. If your account continues to be unpaid inMOTION has the option to dismiss your child from classes until your account is current. If a bank draft is returned by the bank, there will be a $25.00 returned check fee. If for some reason you miss a class or a holiday happens to fall on your class date, the full monthly tuition is still required. For the first 4 payments ( September, October, November and December) your monthly price will include the recital costume fee. Starting in January, your monthly fee will decrease because it will not have the costume fee.
ALL TUITION WILL BE PAID THROUGH AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFT OR MONTHLY CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. Click here for the bank draft form that must be turned in two weeks before class starts. Bank/Credit Card payments will be drafted on the 1st of each month from September - May. All transactions will include a small e-processing fee, which is $1-$2 per transaction.
Costumes are required for the Spring recital and will be included with the tuition billing from Sept-Dec, with the balance of fees due no later than February 1. If your student drops out of class for any reason before December, you are still required to pay the costume fee.
